I have been Dr. Mahmood's patient for y years, after he was recommended by a friend. Although I can't speak for the large & competent office staff there, I can strongly assert that Dr. Mahmood is a thorough and professional physician, with an empathetic bedside manner. In 7-8 visits with him, he has always given me all the time I have requested or needed, whether about common issues or prostatic cancer.

Dr. Mahmood has been masterfully well-versed on urinary/ urologic issues, and I know he keeps up to date on new treatments & research in his field, because as a scientist, I have vetted current research in order to more fully understand my own condition. I have always received thoughtful & reasoned answers to any questions I bring to him. His manner is easy-going, even when gently confronting a patient (as he did with my father-in-law) over true history & pharma treatment. In that case, Dr. Mahmood was able to guide and treat his patient, despite that patient's inability to fully disclose his own condition.

Dr. Mahmood is an exceptional doctor. I am fortunate that he practices in my area, and that he has looked after my wellbeing for many years.

Dr Mahmood is ok. Office staff is not the most friendly. One in particular was actually rude and if I were in charge, she would have been fired after I heard her talk to a patient like that. I had prostate surgery and an office visit two weeks after surgery. Then they scheduled another appointment a month after that. I felt much better by that time and considering how busy the waiting room always is, I decided to cancel that appointment figuring there might be a patient needing his services more than me at that time. Then a month after that cancellation, I decided to make an appointment again. The woman who I spoke to was the rudest I have ever encountered at a doctors office. I spoke to her on October 3rd, a date I'll never forget. She told me she couldn't make the appointment as I had cancelled the appointment a month before October 3rd. I then asked if she couldn't make the appointment, when should I call to make one. She said, and I'll never forget her answer, "don't call us, we'll call you." I'm still waiting for her, or someone in Dr. Mahmood's office to call me! That call never came and it's been over three years now! So the end result is, she refused to make an appointment, and I never went back to this doctor. Unfortunately, I wish I had her name as I would have reported it to Dr. Mahmood. I have no complaints with the doctor but his office staff needs to be trained to handle his patients in a more professional way or, maybe the doctor gives his staff the latitude to conduct themselves that way. Either way, I have actually found a better urologist so in the end everything worked out fine but the results could have possibly been different if I had been sitting around waiting for that call. He lost a patient because of her and I found a wonderful doctor. I'm giving a rating of one star only because of his office staff. Be careful of that office staff, from my experience they don't have your best interests at heart.
