This doctor refused to give me the test I needed to determine whether my gall bladder was functioning properly, unless I also took another diagnostic test, performed by him. The procedure he performed was unnecessary, and I felt ignored, and pressured by Dr. Damianos. After he did his procedure, he gave me the results of the first test, which he had before the unnecessary procedure. If he would have given me the rests sooner, I wouldn't have had the second unnecessary procedure.

DR. Damianos did not listen to my needs and was rude to me. He wasted several months of my time, while I was in agony due to a collapsed gall bladder, refusing to further investigate the problem

I would never recommend him to anyone.

I went to an appointment with Dr. Damianos back on Sept. 20, 2011 and with my current issues, allong with some medication he wanted me to get a lab done at the lab on the first floor of the building they are in. The lab was a Celiac PLUS test. I of course had no idea what this was or anything but I did so because I trusted he knew best. He proceded to tell me that normally the test is expensive but because the lab is in the same building, his office had a deal with the lab and that the test will be significantly less so insurance would cover it because it can be done right there. I just noticed a bill I had gotten in the mail from Prometheus Therapeutics & Diagnostics. The test cost $799.00, insurance paid $158.45, and now I am stuck with a $640.55 bill. I then called the lab agency and questioned the bill and they said insurance would have covered it if the test could have been done on-site at the lab that took the blood samples but, these people out in San Francisco, CA are the only ones that do this test so my blood samples had to be FedEx'd out there and was considdered out of my network for insurance. I told the billing guy on the phone what I was told at the office and he suggested I call the doctors office and try to see if they will absorb some of the bill. So I did and no luck there. Aparently the Gastro office DOES NOT have a deal with ANY lab. Therefore I am stuck with this bill. I will never go back to Dr. Damianos' office and would not recommend them to anyone. I would have not done the test if I knew I was going to be stuck with this bill. This is rediculous and stupid, patients should be made aware of this beforehand. The office or the doctor should be responsible if they mislead or failed to inform the patient before putting in an order for a lab like this. PATIENTS BEWARE!
