I acquired and eye infection due to exposure to raw human sewage. Mr. Hershewe would not listen to the cause of my eye infection. He would not treat the infection until I was subject to 24 separate blood test, a spinal tap ( known as a lumbart puncture),a CT scan and a review from the infectious disease. by that time the damage was done and it was too late. After going through all of this is a 3 day period and waiting for the result for almost a month until the day before christmas, I was told that all the test turned out negative. I told him I was saturated with human sewage and within 24 hours I had an eye infection........Mr. Hershewe insisted it was not that.....So my eye has half the vision now, he will not let me have copies of my records and to this day, 3 months later, he will not admit it was an infection, when every medical journal I read shows and states exactly what my condition was.....sad..

My wife spent many months going through the VA system trying to find treatment for her condition. Then her in system neurologist got permission for her to see a specialist. Dr. Hershewe. Who her doctor had worked with before.

After going to his office she was told the VA did not submit the paperwork correctly and the very rude staff members had her in tears before she left.

After following up with the VA she went back and got all the paperwork in the order that Dr. Hershew's staff had requested and had a VA staff member send it to them. Not only did the VA comment on how rude his staff is but then my wife was told that she would have to wait for Dr. Hershewe to review the case and then decide if he would treat her or not.

After a month of waiting her VA doctor called and was left with the impression that Dr. Hershew would take her case and Dr. Hershewe even reviewed her records over the phone with her VA doctor. Leaving him with the impression that he was indeed taking my wife's case.

After another month of waiting and her condition getting worse her VA doctor called Dr. Hershewe again and asked why no appointment had yet been made to see my wife.

He was then told that he would not be taking on any clients from the VA.

Now if you don't want to deal with the men and women that have severed their country fine. That's your choice. But is it ethical to make someone with a serious medical issue wait months and let their condition get worse just to then tell them you won't take them because you have decided not to work with the VA system?

I can't even describe how upset I am that we waited months for this "Doctor" to make up his mind. Time that could have been used to treat my wife's condition. Is it right to string somebody along for months with their health failing when you had no intention of helping in the first place?

Don't even bother with this so called "Doctor" and his rude staff if you wish to get well.
