I am currently struggling with Dr. Germin's office regarding payment. He referred me for genetic testing for a clinical trial that he assured me would be covered by insurance. Usual practice would be that the tests are charged to the drug company conducting the trials. So despite Dr. Germin's assurances, I am left with a bill for over $1200.00 that is not covered by Medicare or my private insurance. As a retired person this is financially burdensome.

The person in the billing office response was "Medicare will not pay for a "rule out" condition". I am well aware of my condition, informed Dr. Germin of the same and he still insisted on testing for the clinical trial. The person in billing is out until 7/6 and no one else can assist.

I have no comment on his clinical practice but his business practice is not commendable.
