I was very pleased with Dr Acorn and her clinical staff. The same could not be said for her receptionist/insurance claims person. . My first visit with Dr Alcorn was for a rountine check-up and cleaning. I went there knowing my insurance would pay 100% . I was surprised when this girl insisted I owed $50.00. Rather than argue, I went ahead and paid. She said she would check with the insurance before my next visit, however she did not. When I returned for a small filling, I brought the paperwork my insurance company had sent me showing they had paid 100% for my first visit, but she refused to even look at it. She told me I owed another $103.00 for this current visit. I told her I would pay half, since she owed me the $50.00 for the first visit. After the third visit and the insurance argument continuning, because of this girls refusual to even confirm with my insurance company what they would or would not pay, I decided I would find another dentist. Dr Alcorn's office owes me a refund, which I doubt I will ever get. It is really a sad thing. I liked Dr Alcorn. I have never had a problem like this with any of my previous dentist. It is not my insurance company. They have always paid and been willing to give an estimate of what they will cover. I was going to have several crowns replaced this year . Dr Alcorn has lost revenue because the girl who files her insurance is incompetant.

They explained my treatment options very thoroughly and answered all my questions... a very agreeable experience (not something I'd usually say about a dentist)! The office was very clean and the staff were on top of it, offering me everything I needed (water; my invoice, etc.) before I even had to ask!
