My Asian wife took my half white, half asian daughter here for her 3 year old checkup. She had her first set of X-rays, and the front ones went well. When she had the second set, at the back, she became fussy, as biting down on the X-ray plastic is painful. The lady doing the X-ray became increasingly frustrated and walked out saying. "Well, she obviously doesn't understand a word of English". I was away for the week on business and came home to my daughter saying "daddy, I don't understand English". I left a voicemail asking for someone to call me to discuss this as they were closed for a week. I received a phone call from the finance lady who was apologetic and told me that i would be contacted as soon as the office reopened, on the following Monday. Monday morning came, with no call, at 11:30 i went in to speak to them. Eventually i spoke to the office manager and the Dentist, and was told it was not in any way racist, it was more a "decision tree" and that they were determining if my daughter was able to understand English, When I suggested that that would have been believable if she had asked my wife "Does your daughter understand English?" rather than "She obviously doesn't speak a word of English" He said "if you are looking for a fight...." i explained that i was not, i was merely looking for an explanation. His response was that i should sign the release forms to get my daughters records so we can find another Dentist. I can only assume that they have so many patients that they can pick and choose which ones they want, and if you raise a concern, all they care about is getting rid of you. Needless to say, we shall not be returning
