I worked for this dr. for almost two years and in November of 2013 he started to do two crowns on me because we had no patients after a day of a all morning appt. He said I needed a root canal immediately and two crowns on 13,14 so he was going to do it. After doing the root canal on 13 and putting a temp build up he stopped and said we would finish later when there was time. Which there never was. I was told to bill my insurance company as I was enforced to do on every patient when a prep was began. (A prep is when they take out the decay and begin the crown and do a temp. until your permanent is ready) I didn't even get a temp crown. Since I worked there for so long. I billed my insurance company BCBS as I was told and they paid them over $900 for the procedures that he never finished. I found out in early March that I have issues with Cancer and here I sit without a job now and one tooth that was partially worked on and another that hasn't been touched. My insurance company has paid for all of it and there is no way I would allow him to finish. I know how he works. I was forced to do a lot of things that were not on the up and up, shady as hell acutally. I was let go due to my illness and needing to see doctors like Oncologists. I never took a day off and all of the sudden the locks on the doors were changed, so if you think your experience with him was bad imagine what I'm going through. The best thing I can tell all of you is steer clear. Legally, I have recently found out, no dentist can charge a PPO insurance company until a permanent crown has been placed. That is how he gets his money upfront and makes you wait until it is convienent for him to finish because once he has the money he will reschedule you an enormous amount of times and make excuses why when in fact he is only moving you because he has found his next victim who has money to pay upfront for a procedure and that will bump you every time. As far as those of you patients with a DMO keep in mind you don't matter to him he gets paid a small amount to see you and in his tiny little brain that means you are worthless more less a welfare patient. He feels that all the cleanings he gives you are on his dime and you don't deserve it unless you get an exam and he gives you a treatment plan, which is also something I solely did for him. I went over them however keep in mind I can't read xrays so I did what I was told to do. He despises children and that is why he will only see two a day and then if he feels like it he will claim they have rampant decay or a behavioral problem and refer them to a pedodontist or a prosthodontist to get them out of his practice stating they have decay in between all of there back teeth. He wants a primarily adult base patient office but won't state that he won't see kids because he will lose his captation checks that he gets monthly from the DMO insurance companies. 99% of his "treatment" plans are crowns. He refuses to do any fillings because they are "free" as he calls it. So he only does a filling at a 9am slot and they book months out. Surprise by the time you come back for your filling it has become a crown because you have waited so long due to his scheduling process. He will rearrange the schedule every day depending on his mood and have you reschedueled in a heartbeat. With a DMO plan he will upcharge you for things and when you get in the seat with him he will add things that he claims he has discussed with you and really hasnt otherwise the treatment coordinator would have come in and had you sign for the extra work. However on your way out they will have a new treatment plan for you to sign to cover him for what he has done "extra" that you "needed". If you have Safeguard as your insurance you are his favorite DMO because if he can diagnose 6 or more crowns he can charge you extra for each crown up to 140$ in an upcharge on top of the other upcharges! However he will never do all 6 at once and will split it and when he does that he CANNOT charge you the upcharge. They have to all be done on the same day. They didn't make me sign a confidentiallity clause so YES I can legally state all your shady crap on here and it is not slander it is TRUTH!! Please beware and for childrens sake go somewhere else!!!
The rinsing sink was a somewhat clean and they provided disposable cups but no mouthwash. It was wonderful to have such modern equipment in this Dentist's office so they could take and develop x-rays right there and very speedily too! This Dentist makes little effort to get me in quickly if there's an emergency. The water they used to rinse my teeth during my cleaning was way too hot. It burned my mouth. Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome.

My family has had Dr. Huffstutler as our dentist for many years. We were satisfied with our services until this year when I had dental work this past spring. After submitting my insurance card I was informed that I owed $740.00 more for the treatment. Because of the nature of the treatment I paid the amount. When I received the EOB from my insurance company I realized that I had been overcharged and informed Dr. Huffstutler's office. After several attempts over a period of 6 months I finally decided to contact the insurance company. Only after that was I able to receive a portion of the overcharged payment back. They added additional charges to my bill and kept over $200.00 of the monies which should have been reimbursed to me. They also informed me by way of my insurance company that they will no longer treat me as a patient which was a joke because I have throughout the entire process been very kind and patient with their slow response. This tells me that they only love money and are not truly interested in their patients. Please proceed with caution when selecting this dentist.
