I have known and referred patients to Dr Sheldon Cohen for 30 years. I have never seen a more conscientious, and competent dentist. I have referred patients from different states, and even my own family members and staff. When they received treatment from Dr. Cohen, they have all been impressed by his kindness, his sense of humor, and the great results of his care. I do not hesitate to send patients to him knowing that they will receive the absolute highest quality dental care with exception and without peer. The first review below, seems totally in contradiction to my direct experience. I was not there so I can’t say that there was not an extenuating circumstance, or perhaps the facts as stated were slightly different. There is never a situation when one party has all the details and facts correct, and the other party has nothing to add or even contradict the other. In my experience, however, I have not heard of a single one of my many referred patients having even a remotely negative experience with Dr. Cohen. I would not hesitate to see him as a patient myself.

Dr. Cohen gravely mistreated my 9-year-old daughter who came to him as a victim of reckless negligence by an adult and who has suffered severe mouth trauma. We were sent to him on a recommendation but will NEVER go back and are considering a lawsuit against this man. She came for an X-Ray of her teeth as a scheduled followup for the damage sustained from the injury. When Dr. Cohen placed the digital X-ray apparatus into her mouth, it fell from her mouth to the floor. He immediately became belligerent towards us, insulting me, my daughter and our "case". He berated me to pay for the unbroken piece of equipment, claiming it was worth $2K. Then he proceeded to take his own X-ray equipment and pummeled it into his treatment area wall, scaring my daughter profusely, to tears. When I persisted that he calm down and perform the evaluation for which we were scheduled, he shouted that this would not occur until I left the room. He then attempted to perform the X-ray before ensuring that my daughter was properly protected (at this point she was NOT). Once I intervened and personally covered her private areas properly with the office-supplied protective equipment (the "lead" apron), he violently struck the X-ray button from outside the room before I could take three steps from my daughter to leave the room. I'm appalled and my daughter is traumatized from this treatment. Not to mention that my 8-year-old son in the waiting room heard all of this and was also driven to tears over this ordeal. On top of that, he refused to reveal any information of the X-ray's results!!!
