I normally don’t write reviews, but this place was such a horrific experience; I just have to get it out there.
My wife has been hurting with a tooth that needed to be pulled for three weeks now. The insurance we have only pays for half. We called all around to try and find a dentist near us in Carrollton that took the insurance. The only place we found was in Cumming, and the appointment was a long way off. Although we live on a limited budget, I told my wife to find a dentist that could pull it, and we would just pay cash. She called Harvey Dental Group and was quoted a price to pull a tooth from $200-$500. We booked the appointment. The staff was nice. However, the first thing they did was get an X-ray costing $113. That didn’t bother me. What bothered me was when she went in the back, the dentist tried to get her to make impressions and all kinds of things, which she denied and said she just wanted the tooth pulled. He told her he would refuse to pull the tooth if she didn’t accept a bone graft and other things, and the total would be $1,100. Although they have a Bible in the front of the office, me being a Christian myself, I found this to be a bad testimony with a bait and switch and the lack of concern not only for her pain and need to get the tooth out but the lack of concern about our finances and demanded all the other unnecessary work to be done before pulling a tooth. What a waste of time, and now starts the journey of pain for my wife till we can find a dentist that will just pull the tooth and be honest upfront about the cost. I’m sure they will try and justify their actions. However, when you are promised a price to get a tooth pulled, they should just pull the tooth if that is all you want to be done. There is no need for a bone graft unless you plan on getting dentures, and even then, it can be added later. People for years have gotten teeth pulled without doing all the other. Even so, they should have said that could be a possibility when making the appointment in the beginning. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER HERE!!! OTHERS WERE COMING OUT UPSET ALSO WHILE SHE WAS THERE!!! BEWARE!!!
