I would highly recommend Dr. Robbins! I live in another state & flew to Chicago to see him. I went to him after extensive research, because he specializes in chronic daily intractable headaches. I have been seeing him for over a year now. His cost is extremely reasonable compared to other docs who do not take insurance.

I substained a mild concussion 7/2013 & have had a continuous headache with 3-6 severe migraines EVERY day since I hit my head. My prior headache doc was out of ideas. I have telephone appointments every 6-8 wks with his NP Brooke. She is very thorough, asks lots of questions & listens to my ideas for medication changes. She then discusses my case with Dr. Robbins & calls me back that day. The office staff is awesome too!

Dealing with these headaches for 2 1/2 yrs now leaves me feeling hopeless, but knowing EVERY appointment he has something new to try & never gives up on me has kept me feeling hopeful.

I have had Chronic Daily Headache (CDH) for more than 30 years and was Dr. Robbins' patient for 20 years. I have a particularly complex array of interacting issues that have befuddled many doctors e.g. serious upper spine and neck pain, depression, psychiatric issues, and several other conditions unrelated to my CDH but contributing numerous medications to the mix, thus further complicating the interaction of medications. Dr. Robbins seemed to never run out of ideas for changing medications, letting me try something new, or suggesting adjunct therapies to try. When my pain or meds reactions got really bad, which was every two or three months, I was always sure that Dr. Robbins would quickly make changes and, for extreme pain, give me a shot in my neck or an opiod injection to ease the immediate crisis. He was equally wonderful in dealing with my depression crises. I always found him compassionate and always felt that he was giving me his very best. For the "emergencies," he was very available. Best of all, I always felt that my treatment was collaborative. Finally, he didn't hesitate to suggest impatient treatment at the Diamond Clinic (one of his few competitors, with a very different approach) on three occassions.

I left Dr. Robbins on the best of terms to give the Diamond Clinic approach a longer-term trial. I recommend Dr. Robbins without reservation, and I won't hesitate to return to him if I am not satisfied with the change. I can't say that my condition is much better after six plus years with Diamond, and they have now referred me to Cleveland Clinic That's no reflection on Diamond, which I can also highly recommend. I am an unusually complicated interplay of ailments and interactions of meds.
