Sadly, this DDS, PC Specialist was unable to place implants for my mother who is in her young 70's because she was "not numb enough" no matter how much anesthesia he gave her. Perhaps it was a complicated case, and it was out of the range of his capabilities. We should have stopped going to him when my Mom initially had a reaction to the teflon film he put to hold the injection of bone a few months back and also ended up with an infection. She suffered SO much through this whole experience. The disturbing part is that at no time did he ever apologize, show empathy, nor sympathy for her situation. He kept blaming her for not being "numb" enough, saying the pain "shouldn't" be bad enough, "you're not taking enough pain killers," and the ultimate inappropriate comment: "I've seen this in heroin addict soldiers in the past." My mother doesn't even take Tylenol when she should, and this person is saying these things? This clinician has ZERO trauma-informed care skills, and very questionable bedside manners. He is an arrogant, self-centered man. We would NOT recommend him to anyone. As a daughter, I really hope that when he gets to his 70's, he never experiences the type of care he provided to my mother. I wouldn't wish this treatment even to my enemies.

I cannot imagine a better periodontist than Dr. Stanard. He is friendly, answers all questions thoroughly, and explains fully what he finds, what needs to be done, and the procedure involved. He is acutely conscious of a patient's physical comfort in the chair and in the mouth while he is working. My only regret is that he cannot also be my general dentist!
