In October 2016 my wife was completely healthy. She then went into Dr. George Mantikas office because of a toothache, which she wanted fixed before we went on a cruise the following week. On October 21, 2016, Dr. Mantikas pulled the wrong tooth and gave her antibiotics. On October 27th, he prescribed more antibiotics. He was then out of town in another state, and on November 8th he prescribed her even more, different antibiotics.

There was no improvement, and by November 21st, she went to see a new doctor who gave her a root canal and was shocked by how many antibiotics she was taking, going as far as saying that he would never prescribe that many.

In a few days she was sick and had many stomach problems, which led to her being hospitalized with C. diff. For the next couple of years she was incapacitated, could not go anywhere, was in much discomfort and constantly depressed. She never recovered completely from the C. diff and her life, as she knew it, was over.

This dental mistake caused many other health issues up until her death on June 14, 2020. She had many physical problems after the poor dental procedures, and finally got her wish of not having to live with the pain.

Back when this happened, I told Dr. Matikas about having prescribed too many antibiotics and about the wrong tooth being extracted. In response, I got a certified letter telling us not to return to his office for he no longer wanted us as patients. We were shocked and disappointed. My wife did not want to write this review or to act against him, and I honored her decision, until she passed away. Sad but true.

Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend them to my friends or family. He is a member of the American Endodontic Society, a small group of disrespected dentists who use a root canal material that has formaldehyde as it's active ingredient. The FDA, ADA and state dental boards DO NOT agree with using this material. It can have serious, life altering and threatening consequences. If it was used on you, you need to find a dental malpractice attorney. It has NEVER been approved by the FDA in the 30 years they claim to be working on it. It NEVER will. They lie about their status and their success rates and blame all failures on anyone else. visit www.worstrootcanalever.com for the truth
