If you don't have insurance, this is the guy you want. Only $50 cash walk-in and he really knows his stuff. The waiting room is small, but I've hardly ever had to sit for more than 5 minutes. They renovated it a few months ago-late 2014-so it looks nicer. The office is run down, but I couldn't recommend a smarter doctor. And he's nice, too, although he's no pushover. Don't try to get any narcotics--he won't do it. Don't try to get estrogen--same. If he thinks it'll hurt you, no way. My biggest recommendation of his abilities is when I went to the hospital for an apparent heart attack. St Joseph's did everything to the tune of $9k and I still had chest pain. I went directly to Dr. Chen and he pushed on my abdomen and when I screamed, he knew it was gallbladder. $50. Cost is never an indication of quality when it comes to professional services. And frankly, when you have no insurance, you don't have many choices. I recommend him to all my friends who are self-employed. They love him.

They were a little too argumentative and angry. They didn't seem like they wanted to listen to almost everything I had to say. Almost every time I visit, I have to remind them who I am, why I'm there, and what my circumstances are. The magazines in their waiting room were so boring. It made my time in the waiting room drag. I can tell it is maybe not a top priority to maintain a professional appearance here. They didn't look terrible, but there is definitely lots of room for improvement. I wasn't greeted at all when I entered their office. I could tell they noticed I walked in, but they still didn't acknowledge me.
