Jerry Rubin has been my son's pediatrician for the past 11 years. Although, we have moved 1.5 hrs away from the practice, so I do not go there for routine visits, but I've always figured if we had a serious, or complicated problem we would see Dr. Rubin. I did actually have to consult him after having been away from the practice for several years, not sure if he would still see my son, they asked him, and he did. It's been so nice to know he was there if needed. The practice overall is great with many other very good providers as well (Dean Prina). They handle their extremely high patient volume with organization and grace, and always with a personal touch. Dr. Rubin is very current on new issues and procedures, his strong point in my opinion being his inclination to a natural or alternative approach when appropriate or in addition to traditional treatments. He is not only supportive of this approach, but highly informed and educated, unlink most other Drs, although the practice in general and the other Drs, also take this approach as well. When my son was younger we had to deal with some ongoing issues with him, and Dr. Rubin would always call me for follow-up better than any other Dr. I've ever dealt with, although I knew he was extremely busy, he always made time to talk, actually listen and complete the phone calls. We have not ever used him for psychiatry, but I'm sure his approach is reasonable and balanced, like the rest of his care. And just so you know I'm not easily impressed by Drs. Having worked in the medical field myself for the past 23 years, I am very proactive, self-educated and involved in our health care, (a challenge for most Drs), and am not personally fond of many medical professionals and their approach to health care. Dr Rubin actually appreciates and encourages input from patients/families and is really an exceptional provider. He is always mentally present and focused and always does his absolute best. I have been very secure in the knowledge that I had his support and knowledge behind me if we ever needed him.
Thank you so Much Dr. Rubin for making such a difference to so many people!
