She did a shave biopsy which showed squamous cell carcinoma. I returned to have the residual cancer removed and she wanted to just do a punch biopsy. The standard of care is a excisional biopsy with 4mm clear margins. A punch biopsy will give you no margins. I am a RN who works with several other MDs and they all said this was really substandared (the punch biopsy) care and that I should not go back to her and see another MD. Dr. Keller seems to want to do what will be the easiest and involve the least amount of work for her, and ignore the standard of care.
