NEVER EVER EVER go to Dr. Schreiber or her practice. Our 12-year old son was on a field trip away from home for a week. He developed a rash that he's had before for which one of the doctors in the practice had prescribed ointment. Although they couldn't pinpoint what was causing the rash, the ointment was the only thing that worked. The nurse on the field trip called us at home at around 8:30 pm PT and we immediately knew after talking to our son and the nurse that it was the same rash. We were also very worried parents because the rash tended to get worse quickly and was quite painful and our son was away from us in a different state. Dr. Schreiber was on call that night. We had very minimal interaction with her in the 3 years our children were going to her practice. I have never before been made to feel so horrible by ANY doctor, much less a pediatrician. I simply asked that she call the local pharmacy to put the prescription in for our son. He had one refill left, but it was not a Walgreen's prescription, but a CVS prescription. All she had to do was call in the prescription. Instead, she questioned us with a condescending tone, asked why we had called her so late and after the pharmacy had already closed. I explained to her the situation and did not want my son to spend another night in pain with his rash. All she had to do was leave a message on the pharmacy line so they could fill it first thing in the morning instead of waiting until 9:30 am pacific time when her practice opens. Local time for my son would have been 11:30 am and that meant another 4-5 hours of suffering. I told her if she couldn't call the pharmacy now could she call first thing in the morning. She literally said she doesn't "set her alarm for 6 am"!!!!! She doesn't get up that early. Can you believe that??? What if it had been an actual life or death emergency with my child??? Why is she a pedicatrician?? Why does she not trust the doctors on her staff?? Will she get up in the middle night if your child needs her?? I think not.
