I made an appointment with this doctor twice. Once was for my knee which I was experiencing a lot of pain in for quite some time. After waiting for 45 minutes to an hour, the doctor finally saw me. I felt very rushed while we were in the room and felt like he wasn't really listening to me. I was trying to explain to him my symptoms and be as specific as I could be, but he seemed to be just yesing me to death and even cut me off a few times. I don't think this is very professional or caring, especially since I waited a long time to see him in the first place. Eventually, he decided to just give me a cortisone shot and sent me on my way. The second time I visited the doctor's office was when I broke the metacarpal in my right hand. I had already gotten an x-ray done at a radiology place but had to go see an orthopedic doctor to get it taken care of. Again, I had to wait in the waiting room for at least an hour. During this time, the fire alarm went off and the fire dept. had to come. They couldn't get the alarm to shut off for a long time which was very unpleasant. Finally, they shut the alarm off and I was called into the room. I waited in the room for another 20 minutes for the doctor to come in...but he never came in. I overheard him in the hallway telling the physician's assistant that I needed a hard cast. I guess he looked at my x-ray, diagnosed me, and figured out the proper solution. The only problem is he never explained any of this to me! The physician's assistant came into the room and explained that the doctor got called to the emergency room. If that was truthfully the case, then that is fine..I can understand that. However, I would have appreciated him taking at least 30 seconds of his time to explain to me what was going on with my hand and that the assistant would be taking care of me. The assistant did a good job putting the cast on I must admit. However, when I got my bill I was stunned. I saw that they submitted $2k to my insurance company for what they called "close treatment", meaning that they reset my hand or manipulated it in some way. I assure you that the assistant never did this...all she did was immediately begin putting the cast on. So while I was correctly charged for the cast materials, the cast being put on, and the office visit...I felt like they basically charged an exorbitant amount for something they didn't do. I called the billing dept. and they said that they have to bill for whatever the doctor says was done. So basically, they can make anything up and say that they did something when they really didn't and then bill the patient for it. It basically seems like a big scam to me. My insurance company paid at the agreed pricing, but since I had a deductible I had to pay over $400 out of pocket. I think this doctor is very rude, unprofessional, and his office is scamming their patients. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone..stay away!
