Samira Mohamed, MD

Dr. Samira Mohamed is a Board Certified Gynecologist and Obstetrician and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. After completing her training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and working at the Harvard Vanguard Health System in Boston, she returned to her home in the Rio Grande Valley to work with her father in 2008. After the birth of their daughter, Dr. Mohamed joined Dr. Filiberto Rodriguez to work with RGV Cosmetic Surgery and Vein Care, specializing in varicose vein disease and boutique gynecology. She completed advanced training in varicose vein disease with Dr. Rodriguez and now heads our varicose vein teams in Edinburg and Brownsville. Dr. Mohamed also works closely with Dr. Rodriguez and performs gynecology procedures during his patients’ tummy tuck surgeries, and she also has a special focus on female sexual function and vaginal rejuvenation. Dr. Mohamed graduated from McAllen Memorial High School and completed medical school at the prestigious Instituto Technologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, in Monterrey, Mexico. She then went on to obtain a Masters in Public Health from the world-renowned Harvard University. Dr. Mohamed completed her specialty training in Ob-Gyn at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Mohamed holds an administrative position at Doctors’ Hospital at Renaissance directing Utilization Review and Case Management at Women’s Hospital as a Physician Advisor. She is one of the few physicians in the RGV to be certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (CHCQM). She is passionate about her family, friends, and Pilates.
