This was without a doubt the worst doctors experience I've ever had. First off, the waiting reception was very snippy and are incredibly difficult to deal with and the entire office smells like cigarettes. They have little patience and don't like answering questions or retrieving information when requested. More importantly though, Mark Young is probably the worst doctor I've ever had, especially considering he is a specialist. I had been having ankle pain for almost a year and had been going to physical therapy for about 8 months without signs of improvement before I went to see Mark Young. When I went in, not only did he not listen to me or acknowledge how long I've been experiencing pain, he didn't touch my foot until I asked him to. When I had x-rays done, the x-ray technician didn't even know what x-ray to take yet they were written on the chart. Mark Young decided to tape up my foot and told me to go easy on it, as if I hadn't been for the last several months, and gave me a prescription for physical therapy if it didn't improve in a week. Well surprise, surprise, my injury didn't improve after a week and I had already been doing physical therapy, like I tried to tell him. I went to another doctor a couple weeks later and he diagnosed me with a ligament stretched to the third degree (so basically a torn ligament), and the only solution was surgery. Not only did Mark Young fail to diagnose me, his personality and unwillingness to listen to or acknowledge my problem when he met with me made me feel like I didn't matter, my injury was unimportant, and that he just wanted my money to fund his terrible practice. Especially if you are a woman, if you have any problem bigger than a bunion, I would say go outside of Mt. Pleasant for foot care. Maybe it will cost more, but at least you'll know you're getting the right care with the first doctor you go to.

I had my first podiatric visit with Dr. Young. He was very friendly, kind and gentle. My appointment was extremely punctual which is rare for doctors of any kind. He answered all of my questions and even anticipated some which I forgot to ask. I would highly, highly recommend him to anyone without reservation!
