Had foot surgery. Was told at the very last minute (in the OR right before going under) that "this is a teaching facility" and was introduced to another doc who would be "assisting." The other doc's name is what appears on the bill. Had I known that Dr. Miller wasn't actually performing the procedure, I would have gone elsewhere. I had chosen Dr. Miller because of his reputation and don't appreciate having that news sprung on me at the last minute. The word "fusion" was never used when referring to one of my toes until weeks after surgery. And the only reason this came up was because I told Dr. Miller I was having a hard time getting mobility back in that toe. What a surprise to learn that late that this toe won't bend anymore! The main toe that had work is still swollen and painful, just under the joint now instead of on top! And it's 7 months post-surgery. Visits to his office generally have an assembly line feel to them as well. Not going back.
