Let me start by saying that I have known someone that liked this office and said they received good treatment here. Unfortunately, my first impression of the office staff was they seemed generally apathetic and sadly this did not change much throughout my treatment. The office policies seemed unreasonable and inflexible. For example, I don't like to give out my SS # for obvious reasons and also I feel that my insurance id number should be a sufficient way to identify me. This practice is not flexible on this matter. Despite the frequent and painful shots for almost 2 years, my symptoms worsened over time. A new vile of serum had just been ordered, but my doctor wanted me to undergo more tests. I thought what's the point of having them inject this serum in if it isn't working. They made me pay for it anyway. Recently, I asked for my records to try a new allergist and was told it would cost $10 + .25/page for this. I found out that if my new practitioner asked for these records they would be made available at no cost, but would take 2 weeks to process. I spent a lot of money at this office. I feel like I've already paid for these records and then some. Like so many health practitioners these days, I feel like they are just following some playbook that was handed to them in medical school. If you don't fit the conventional treatment mold, you'd better be ready to fork over some more $ so they can rework the same problem or punt.
I went in with an allergy to a medication and the doctor said that they don't test for medication allergies. They just find another medication and use that. Well, other meds are not always available. This past week, I had to go through an office surgery with no anesthesia at all because the only med the doc had was the one I may be allergic too and we can't take that chance. Oh, and the allergist charged me for the visit as if he had taken care of the problem. They definitely didn't answer all of my questions, which was annoying. I had hoped to get a lot more info, but didn't get much. They made no attempt to follow up with me after my appointment. It isn't a big deal, but it does say something about the overall atmosphere of the office. They could work on improving their level of customer service here. It wasn't the worst that I have seen, but overall I left unimpressed. I don't feel like I can count on them to work with me until they find a solution for my situation. They always seem like they're going to give up on me.
