I know Karen to have remarkable integrity and skill. Therapy isn't for everyone, and there are probably ten weak therapists for every good one. Karen Cabral is very good at what she does. I'll never forget some of the things she said to me, and asked me, during our sessions. My issues were difficult and complex. Maybe every person can say that. Karen Cabral didn't just listen and say UmHmm. She provided me lots of resources and plenty of information on available workshops and advanced training specific to my situation despite my lack of formal training. Disconnecting after our sessions together was very difficult for me, and she provided a little extra time for that to occur. I'll never forget the work we did together. I have no hesitance in giving her the highest possible recommendation for anyone who will work to get past serious personal issues.

Karen Cabral has an unhealthy obsession with boundaries. Boundaries should be viewed in a balanced way as a means to Protect the therapeutic relationship respecting oneself and the patient. It's evident to me she hasn't completed her own work and act-outs by enjoying her power over vulnerable people.

Karen only saw me through the scope of my diagnosis and could not see past that. Karen doesn't see the individual -- the human behind the label -- and doesn't care that I am way much more than what the DSM-V has written about me. She's much more interested in trite stereotypes.

She uses a client's diagnosis against them as a means to divert attention away from her own insecurities, paranoia, and countertransferential issues.

She told me she'd give me a referral to other therapists if I didn't like her. It turns out she lied about that and rather told me to look them up myself. Well, that made no sense because it was my looking up for myself that had me find her. Not every therapist advertises themselves on the internet. But the bottom line is that Karen is a charlatan.

If I am going to purchase a service, it is my right to know what I am buying before I put my money down. But she sees this as a boundary violation.

I do not recommend. One-hundred dollars for 50 minutes, I'd expect someone with a bit more professionalism. Too much money for the lack of quality for this one.
