This is a warning to anyone thinking about taking your child to Dr. Goldman. First, he is not a counselor and he doesn't do testing. He just manages medications, so don't expect more than that. My child was not reaching his potential in school. Dr. Goldman diagnosed him in 5-10 minutes with depression, which surprised me, and prescribed medication. It did not achieve any results. Then changed the medication to one that made him very ill and he started failing classes at school (teachers called to say they were concerned.) So when I questioned the Dr. about his diagnosis, he just said the condition had gotten worse, that is why we had the negative results (not the medication itself), and my son just needed to try another medication. At that point I just said no more pills. So if you take your kid, just be prepared to go through lots of pills without really knowing if they will make things better or worse. My child felt like a lab rat and got angry - which then just confirmed the doctor's diagnosis that he was "getting worse." Just be very careful - I feel so sorry that I put my child through this ordeal.

Dr. Goldman was nice the first visit but every visit after the first he no longer seemed interested to discuss any changes or problems. After waiting over an hour for one appointment he told his receptionist, he would not even come out and talk face to face, for us to get an evaluation at another location, which he did not explain where this location was or why his evaluation was not good enough. My child was on medication and I called to have the prescription refilled and he would not call back. My child was going to be without the medication he prescribed before the end of the weekend and I called again to ask about the prescription and the receptionist told me to just take him off the medicine. A few days later we received a letter from Mr. Goldman saying he would no longer accept my child as a patient. We paid a lot of money for the evaluation and every office visit. I feel Dr. Goldman and the staff are not ethical and are very unprofessional.

I was glad that they were located in a safe neighborhood. I was very disappointed that I waited over an hour for an appointment twice. When I called to get a prescription refilled they never returned my call. Eventually (5 days later) after 7 unanswered phone calls, my pharmacy called and said it was refilled. They don't treat their clients equally, it seems they make time for their favorite clients, as I waited for my scheduled appointment, they let others go in ahead of me. There was never an apology for keeping me waiting. They don't accept insurance, they want you to pay cash and bill insurance yourself. This was expensive, $300 for an initial evaluation which took him about 20 minutes.. He must of been upset that I called so much for my refill because he sent me a letter telling me he doesn't want to treat me or my daughter any more. I explained on one of the phone messages my daughter was in the hospital for depression, when we needed him the most he blew us off. Incredible disappointment, definitely not ethical. I'm sure we'll be better off elsewhere.
