Went to see this doctor for support I needed to deal with my child who was acting out in disturbing ways. I explained that my child was under the care of a well known therapist who was seeing him twice a week and who suspected he may have a mental health diagnoses. I spent 2 visits with Dr W. sharing with her my pain and suffering as well as some of my child's behavior. After my second visit I discovered through my son's therapist that Dr W had called in to speak to her about her concerns that I was abusing my child. The therapist explained to her that this was not the case and in fact our child was in a very loving and supportive home. I felt terribly betrayed and saddened that she could not be upfront with me and if she had concerns about my child we could address those concerns in the light of day with her calling my therapist with my knowledge. Not too many years later my child was diagnosed with a very serious mental health disorder and had to spend time in a facility as he became too much to handle in our home. My experience with Dr W affected me so deeply that I have not been able to trust therapists since.
