Dr. Smith believes that dental fear, anxiety or phobia is a real, sometimes debilitating condition that keeps about 50 percent of Americans from seeking dental care. He has invested in advanced training, state-of-the-art technology, and a caring, compassionate team to help anxious patients find peace of mind and body in our office. Laughing gas, or nitrous oxide, often calms patients and relieves the stress of a dental visit. For some, oral sedation is the best solution for a comfortable dental experience. We also use air abrasion, instead of a traditional dental drill, to remove tooth decay gently. With DentalVibe, even injections are more comfortable. Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, in 1977 and graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland in 1981. After completing his residency at St. Vincent Hospital in 1982, Dr. Smith established his own practice in Fremont in 1985. He continues his postgraduate education with a variety of courses each year.
Dr. Smith and his wife, Ann, have two daughters in college. Away from the office, he enjoys boating, golfing and fishing.
