This story has been getting alot of attention, including mine! The media is finally taking note of the research that indicates that being overweight, over-fat, or obese is unhealthy, even if you exercise. Fitness does not erase the problems of fatness.
A Plus-size beauty contestant in England is getting attention. Watch this video:
Sure, beauty is only skin-deep. And mental attitude is important to overall health and wellness. But overwhelming evidence tells us that fit, active individuals have the attributes that these contestants embody.
Exercise improves sleep, boosts energy, prevents depression, improves mood, lowers blood pressure, and prevents 90% of degenerative diseases.
So, if the beauty queen wants to "weigh" the benefits of having a positive outlook alone, versus the benefits of a positive outlook accompanied by exercise, her evidence certainly won't "weigh in". It is anecdotal evidence, at best.
Funny thing is...Obese individuals tend to be the least active folks in society. So, the fit-fat lifestyle issue applies to a very small percentage of people.
