Live Well & Prosper--Health Lessons from Mr. Spock

Many people are still mourning the recent passing of Leonard Nimoy; it should be comforting to know, though, that the character that he helped bring to life (Mr. Spock) will continue to live on in all the now iconic Star Trek TV episodes and movies.

By any standard, Mr. Spock (best remembered for his science officer and second in command roles on the Enterprise) is one of the most interesting and unique fictional characters Hollywood has given the world.  Had he been just another weird alien, this might not be true. But it's the fact that he is also half-human that makes him so special. Although looking strange and possessing several out-of-this-world characteristics, he is still one of us.

Although the half-man/half Vulcan Starfleet officer is brimming with attributes (and some faults) you can spend years discussing, one area that maybe isn't given enough attention is what this Vulcan can teach us about health.

I admit I'm a geek for the original Star Trek series. I would never have thought of writing such a blog. I'm glad you did. Fun take and a nice lasting memory of a great American icon.
