Turbocharge Your Fat-Burning Machine

“The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and themore you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.”  ~Anthony Robbins

Everyone hits a plateau every now and again when focused on shedding fat—including me. Most everyone who wants to improve their fitness level and lower their body weight needs a push to jump-start their fat-burning machine, aka their metabolism.

When I have a photo shoot coming up and don’t feel camera ready, I have to get my body fat down, fast! To reach my fat-loss goals within two weeks, I have to mentally prepare my winning game plan first.

My fitness modeling fat-loss secrets are actually not secrets at all. It comes down to being dedicated at the gym, eating right, and having a positive mental attitude. I begin by getting my mind in alignment with what I want to accomplish. I visualize precisely how I want my body to look, and then I write down my short-term goals and an action plan, followed with powerful affirmations to support and help me reach my goals.

It all comes down to seeing my body in my mind’s eye of how I want it to be before I even get started. I also visualize myself following through and reaching my goals before an event. All of which opens the way for me to implement self-mastery, willpower, and discipline.

What to Eat to Burn Fat

Eating a healthy diet high in protein, clean fats, and veggies and low in carbs always puts my metabolism into overdrive. I eat small meals every 3 to 4 hours consisting of: lean protein, low glycemic carbs (such as Ezekiel bread), clean fats (afternoon), and lots of fresh veggies and salads. I have my last meal before 7p.m. to ensure I go to bed feeling “light” so my body can work on repairing my muscles while I sleep.

Eating a healthy diet is essential to turbo charge your metabolism. To help you know what to eat to burn fat fast, below is a list of fat-burning foods, that when used in the right combination shown above, will fuel your metabolism even without working out. Of course, doing cardio and weight lifting 5 to 6 days a week will skyrocket your fat loss and will build a sexy, lean physique!

Power Food

Avoid ALL processed foods—you wouldn’t drink toxins knowingly, so why mindlessly eat them by eating processed foods? Watch out for hidden high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, high sodium, and preservatives.

To keep your metabolism burning in high gear, aim to drink 80 to 142 oz of purified water daily. Flavor your meats with delicious seasonings and stay away from sauces high in sugar and sodium.

By eating power food consistently YOU WILL turbocharge your fat-burning machine and will achieve your ideal weight sooner.

Proteins

Boneless, skinless chicken breast/chicken tenders; white albacore tuna (in water); salmon; halibut; tilapia; sushi (without rice); mahi mahi; swordfish; extra lean ground beef or ground round (92-96%, eat sparingly); buffalo; high-quality protein powder (whey, casein, egg); eggs whites; top round steaks or roast (eat sparingly); top sirloin (eat sparingly); ground turkey; turkey breast (stay away from processed deli meat).

Complex Carbohydrates

Oatmeal (old fashioned or Irish steel cut); sweet potatoes; yams; brown rice; Ezekial bread; whole wheat bread (with at least 3 to 4 grams of fiber per slice).

Fresh Vegetables/Fibrous Carbs

Green, leafy lettuce (red, green, romaine); broccoli; asparagus; string beans; spinach; bell peppers (green or red); Brussels sprouts; cauliflower; cabbage; celery; cucumber; carrots (steamed); eggplant; onions; pumpkin; garlic; tomatoes; zucchini.

Fruits and Berries

Mixed berries, oranges, apples, grapefruit, peaches, strawberries, blueberries.

Healthy Fats

Omegas 3, 6, and 9; natural-style peanut butter; olive oil; safflower oil; flax seed oil; fish oil; avocado.

Nuts and Seeds

Almonds, walnuts, pistachios, cashews, flax seeds, sunflower seeds (all raw).

Condiments

Mustard, garlic, mushrooms, onions, dry seasonings, fresh herbs, scallions, sea salt, pepper.

By feeding your miraculous body with the fuel it craves you will be able to turbo charge your fat-burning machine and will burn fat with less effort.

Food has vibration, so be sure to eat whole foods. Remind yourself, “If God didn’t make it, don’t eat it.” Eat fresh fruits and veggies daily, and be positive to keep your vibration energy frequency high, which will aid in craving healthier foods. By honoring your body and fueling it with whole foods, you will feel and look your best!

Just a few months into a mostly grain-free diet I can honestly say I went from pretty much daily insatiable cravings for carbs and sweets and counting down every next meal to comfortably satisfied with much less food, sweet stuff tastes bad to me now and plain natural stuff has a new sweetness I never even appreciated before. Now if I could just get into the whole fitness thing... still working on that motivation. Getting there!
