Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Just like I said during my medical school interviews, I like science, and I want to help people. The biology, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology inside us is fascinating. I like to learn what a patient's goals are for their care. Then I apply the sciences to meet the patient's goals. What I want my patients to know about me: I don't like prescribing pills and ordering tests. Yes, I do prescribe a lot of pills, but I don't like it. I would prefer to try lifestyle changes to promote good health. Unfortunately, that doesn't always work as well as we hope.
